The device comprises a matrix of electrodes distributed on an electrode pad configured to be applied on a human or animal body and arranged for covering a plurality of the stimulation points of the human or animal. An electronic circuit is connected to the matrix of electrodes and configured for applying an electrical stimulation signal to the electrodes. A feedback signal, in response to an electrical stimulation signal, may be used in assessing the suitability of electrodes as an electrical stimulation point.
