Summary:The device (100) has an arming unit including a retardation unit (4) that maintains energy potential accumulated in a mobile part operating mechanism for a predetermined time, to maintain an armed mobile part i.e. hammer (7), for the predetermined time till activation of the mobile part. The arming unit has a transmission unit that transmits energy from a motor unit i.e. barrel, of a clock mechanism to a contact surface (10) comprising a strip (301), to control a striking pallet (1). A retardation surface (40) of the retardation unit is arranged at the periphery of a striking wheel (30). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a striking mechanism comprising a striking wheel (2) a date mechanism comprising a control device (3) a timepiece comprising a control device.
