Summary:The decoy flare (2) has a mass body (12) forming a head of the decoy flare and mechanically and/or hydraulically detachable from the decoy flare. The mass body is divided into two parts transverse to a longitudinal axis (C) of the decoy flare, where the parts are connected with one another in a detachable manner in an area that is turned away from a head end of the mass body. A spring ring is arranged at a head end of the mass body, and a pre-stressed pressure spring is arranged between the parts, where the spring ring is removed from the mass body by a piston-cylinder-arrangement.
