Summary: | The method for producing a casting part (10) such as an engine block, comprises creating a feeder core, inserting the feeder core into a casting mold, filling the casting mold with a liquid metal, positioning the feeder core in an interior of the casting mold, and creating a recess (15) in the casting part by positioning the feeder core at a predetermined position in the interior of the casting mold. After completely filling the casting mold with the liquid metal, the casting part is simultaneously cooled from opposing outer areas to the inner areas to each other. The method for producing a casting part (10) such as an engine block, comprises creating a feeder core, inserting the feeder core into a casting mold, filling the casting mold with a liquid metal, positioning the feeder core in an interior of the casting mold, and creating a recess (15) in the casting part by positioning the feeder core at a predetermined position in the interior of the casting mold. After completely filling the casting mold with the liquid metal, the casting part is simultaneously cooled from opposing outer areas to the inner areas to each other. The casting part is removed from the casting mold when a feeder (13) is present in the interior of the feeder core after cooling in a partial paste-like state. The feeder is arranged in an interior of a cylinder of the engine block, where the feeder is connected with a predetermined area at an inner wall (15a) of the cylinder. An independent claim is included for a casting part such as an engine block.
