Summary: | A computer-based method and a computing device for automatically providing a prediction on a future energy demand to an energy source are proposed. The method may be used for district heating prediction (DHP) including a heating source and comprises: a) acquiring actual measurement data of an actual ambient temperature and of an actual heating demand output of the heating source; b) updating a regressive model of the heating demand based on the acquired actual measurement data; c) acquiring forecasted ambient temperature data; d) calculating the prediction on the future heating demand using the updated regressive model and based on the acquired forecasted ambient temperature data; e) repeating steps (a) to (d). The method may be used to precisely predict a future heating demand e.g. to a district heating system thereby enabling efficient plant planning and/or enabling a forecast for marketable energy which predictably is not used for heating purposes and may therefore be converted e.g. into electricity. |
