The unit (5) has an annular body (7) with a passage opening for a rod (15) that is penetrated into the annular body. An annular seal with a sealing lip (39) lies at the rod and is fixed in an annular groove (23) of the annular body by a fastening ring. The fastening ring of the seal is held in the annular groove of the annular body. A volume compensation chamber (33) for the fastening ring lies between the fastening ring and the annular groove. The seal comprises an abutment surface for axial positioning of the seal at the annular body. Verschlusseinheit (5) für ein Kolben-Zylinderaggregat (1), umfassend einen Ringkörper (7) mit einer Durchgangsöffnung für eine den Ringkörper durchdringende Stange (15), wobei eine ringförmige Dichtung (21) mit mindestens einer Dichtlippe (39) an der Stange anliegt und mit einem Befestigungsring (25) in einer Ringnut (23) des Ringkörpers (7) fixiert ist. Der Befestigungsring der Dichtung wird kraftschlüssig in der Ringnut des Ringkörpers gehalten, wobei zwischen dem Befestigungsring (25) und der Ringnut (23) mindestens einen Volumenausgleichsraum (23) für den Befestigungsring vorliegt.
