Method and apparatus to attain direct communication between accelerator and instruction sequencer

The present invention provides a method and an apparatus wherein a request is communicated directly from a user level application to an accelerator through an accelerator interface and the latter is virtualised so that it is visible to both user level applications and to an operating system.
