Summary:The invention relates to a method for the production of a separating material wherein amino-functional groups are covalently coupled, with the help of a thermally labile radical initiator, to a solid substrate having amino-functional groups. This is followed by contacting the substrate surface with a solution of polymerizable monomers under conditions which allow thermally initiated graft copolymerization of the monomers. This method allows forming a structure of adjacent functional polymer chains on the surface of the substrate.
