Summary:In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure a method for detecting the presence of urine is described. The method includes providing a urine indicating sensor with a porous matrix, the matrix having a pH indicator non-diffusively immobilized thereon, the pH indicator being capable of a color transition when in contact with urine. Urine is contacted with the matrix of the sensor and the presence of urine is determined based on whether the pH indicator undergoes a color transition.
