Summary:The present invention provides a portable terminal device that can enhance reproducibility of an operation output from a touch pad or an input device typified by the touch pad for detecting a press, thereby improving ease of intuitive operation or elaborate operation of the input device. The portable terminal device of the present invention has a display section 11 for displaying various types of information, a touch pad 12 for detecting a press, and a control unit 16 for controlling a shape of a pointer to be displayed on the display section 11 in accordance with a pressed area detected by the touch pad 12.
