Summary:A chuck is described. The chuck may include: a plurality of chuck jaws. Each chuck jaw is radially movable toward and way from a chuck axis, and each chuck jaw including: two substantially coplanar surfaces perpendicular to a chuck jaw axis and substantially parallel to the chuck axis; a ridge located between the two substantially coplanar surfaces; and two troughs, one trough located between the ridge and one of the substantially coplanar surface and the other trough located between the ridge and the other coplanar surface. A chuck jaw and method of configuring a chuck are also described.
