Summary:The method involves determining routes, which are driven from a selected start to a selected target. Road charge fees for the determined routes are retrieved by a road charge collection device (10), and the determined routes with the retrieved road charge fees are displayed. Traffic information is loaded from a server by the collection device, and transmitted to a driver assistance system when the collection device and/or the server determines a deviation of an actual traffic situation. A driver information system (1) i.e. navigation device, is separated from the collection device. An independent claim is also included for a driver information system comprising a device for communicating with a road charge collection device.
