Summary:The present invention relates to a digital map display zooming method for enlarging and reducing a displayed portion (150) of a digital map as map information in digital form within a display screen (4), said method comprising the steps of: designating enlarging operation and reducing operation of said displayed portion (150) of said digital map within said display screen (4) with a pointing means (12, 31, 32); and carrying out (120) processing for performing enlarging operation and reducing operation of a displayed portion designated by said pointing means ( 12, 31, 32), wherein said pointing means (12, 31, 32) comprises a first touch pad (31) and a second touch pad (32), and the enlarging operation and the reducing operation of said displayed portion of said digital map are carried out by operating said first touch pad (31) and said second touch pad (32), respectively. The present invention further relates to a digital map zooming device.
