Summary: | For administration via intravenous route at higher dosages with greater clinical effectiveness, reaching higher tissue concentrations and without determining side effects at a renal level, colistin, a known bactericide against Gram-negative bacteria, is chemiadsorbed on a substrate of liposomes. The liposome composition containing colistin that is obtained can be administered, via intravenous route or else in the form of syrup for oral use as intestinal decontaminant, whilst, in topical formulations such as creams or gels, it can be used in the treatment of skin infections or in prophylaxis of infections in patients affected by burns. |
