Summary:A hybrid drive system which receives a drive force from an engine and at least one rotating electric machine to drive a vehicle in a fuel economy drive mode where an operation point of the engine and an operation point of the rotating electric machine are determined while giving priority to fuel consumption is provided with load limit control means (43) for starting a load limit control for limiting a load exerted to the rotating electric machine when a temperature of the rotating electric machine exceeds a load limit start temperature, loading/towing detection means (44) for detecting a loading state or a towing state of the vehicle, and limit start temperature determination means (43a) for determining the load limit start temperature based on the loading state or the towing state detected by the loading/towing detection means (44).
