Summary: | The present invention relates to a process for the production of paper which comprises providing an aqueous suspension containing cellulosic fibres, introducing into the suspension a filler comprising calcium salt and cellulose derivative having a degree of substitution of net ionic groups up to 0.65, and dewatering the suspension to form a web or sheet of paper, wherein the calcium salt and the cellulose derivative are separately added to the cellulosic suspension and the filler is formed in situ in the cellulosic suspension. |
