Summary:An electrical connector includes a male electrical connector and a female electrical connector. The male electrical connector includes an electrical connector housing that receives a plurality of contact modules provided with first mating contacts. The female electrical connector includes an electrical connector housing that receives a plurality of contact modules provided with second mating contacts that mate with the first mating contacts. Each of the electrical connector housings has a plurality of electrically insulating plates. The electrically insulating plates extend in a plane substantially perpendicular to a plane of insertion of the contact modules into the electrical connector housings. The electrically insulating plates support at least the first mating contacts.
