The blower has a blower housing with an air inlet opening, an air outlet opening and a conducting element (30), which is provided in an area of the air inlet opening. The conducting element is designed in such a manner that the conducting element partially converts twist of the air, escaping from the blower during operation, into static pressure. The conducting element has an air passage opening, and a check valve (72) is provided at an exhaust side of the air passage opening for partially closing the air passage opening in a closing position. Ein Lüfter (44) hat ein Lüftergehäuse mit einer Lufteintrittsöffnung und einer Luftauftrittsöffnung. Im Bereich der Luftauftrittsöffnung ist ein Nachleitelement (30) vorgesehen, das dazu ausgebildet ist, den Drall der im Betrieb aus dem Lüfter (44) austretenden Luft mindestens teilweise in statischen Druck umzusetzen. Dieses Nachleitelement hat mindestens eine Luftdurchtrittsöffnung und ist an der Ausströmseite dieser Luftdurchtrittsöffnung mit mindestens einer Rückschlagklappe (72, 74, 76, 78) versehen, welche in ihrer Schließstellung die Luftdurchtrittsöffnung mindestens teilweise verschließt.
