Summary:The device has an insertion block (26) for inserting coil (10) in slots, which is mounted coaxially to laminations (14). A bottom cap (40) mounts shims (28) in the associated slots, where the axial length of the cap is less than the axial distance traveled by the cap for introducing the shims in the slots. The bottom cap is carried by a radial fin (38) of the insertion block such that each shim is integrated to the insertion block by sliding towards the front of the block with respect to the laminations.
