An outdoor unit of an air conditioner, the outdoor unit having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped box-shaped casing (51) and being configured for connection to an indoor unit via refrigerant communication pipes (5, 6) to configure a vapor compression type refrigerant circuit (10), the outdoor unit comprising: an outdoor heat exchanger (26) and an outdoor fan (32) that are disposed inside the casing (51); a compressor (22) that is disposed inside the casing (51); a refrigerant circuit component that is disposed inside the casing (51) and configures the refrigerant circuit together with the compressor and the outdoor heat exchanger; and an inverter board (83) that is disposed inside the casing (51) and on which inverter control elements are mounted, and a cooling structure configured to cause the exhaust heat that the inverter control elements emit to be dissipated to the refrigerant flowing inside the refrigerant circuit component characterized in that the refrigerant circuit component is a component through which high pressure refrigerant flows.
