Summary: | An oil ring, capable of reducing sliding friction even in a high speed revolution region of a piston, and capable of reducing the consumption of oil, has a substantially I-shaped cross-section with two rails (2, 3) connected at a columnar portion thereof. Each of the two rails (2, 3) has a sliding projection (5) which has an outer portion defining an outer side surface (7), an inner portion defining an inner side surface (8), and a sliding surface (6) formed on a tip end of the sliding projection (5) sliding on an inner wall of the cylinder. At least a portion from an outer edge portion (10), where the outer side surface (7) and the sliding surface (6) are joined to each other, is formed into a curved surface. The sliding surface (6) also has a curved surface sliding portion (11) which is joined to the outer side surface (7) and is formed into a gently curved surface. |
