Summary:In order to provide a file transfer system in which a transmitting device verifies a file transfer capability of a receiving device and which enables efficient file transfer in the case where the transmitting device autonomously transfers files to the receiving device via a network using an HTTP POST method, information (401 and 402) for inquiring about a sink device's capability of interruption/restart of file transfer is described in metadata 400 to be inputted at the time of sending a CDS:CreateObject action request defined in UPnP-AV standard, when a source device verifies on whether a sink device is capable of restart/interruption of file transfer.
