Summary:An inner diameter vane shroud (14) for use in a gas turbine engine is comprised of lightweight cast forward and aft shroud components (20; 22). The forward and aft shroud components (20; 22) are made with an investment casting technique that creates a hollow cavity (30; 32) that runs in a circumferential direction through each component. The forward and aft shroud components (20; 22) are matable to form sockets (24A) that receive inner diameter ends of variable stator vanes (28A).
