Summary:Cosmetic composition comprises, in a medium, multiguanidine compound (I) not belonging to hydroxide family, where (I) reacts on cystines of keratinous fibers, by a beta-elimination reaction producing dehydro-alanine and leading to the formation of lanthionine, for straightening the keratinous fibers in less than 60 minutes. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a multiguanidine compound (II) of formula (((R21)(R2)N)((R11)(R1)N))C=N-B1-N=C((N(R3)(R31))(N(R4)(R41))); (2) a kit comprising the composition; (3) a process of straightening the keratinous matters comprising applying the composition; and (4) an active agent to straighten keratinous fibers comprising (I). Either R1-R4, R11-R41 : H or 1-6C alkyl e.g. CH3, C2H5, isopropyl or tertbutyl, cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl; or R1R2 and/or R3R4 : (CH2)2, (CH2)3 or CH=CH; and B1 : m-xylen-diyl, cyclohexan-1,3-dimethyl-, -CH2-C(CH3)2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-S-S-CH2-CH2-, CH2-CH2-S-CH2-CH2-, -CH2-C(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-N(CH3)-CH2-CH2-, -CH2-CH2-O-CH2-CH2-OCH2-CH2-. Provided that: either when R11-R41 is methyl or when R1/R2 and R3/R4 form (CH2)2 divalent radical, respectively, then B1 is (CH2)2, (CH2)5, (CH2)6 or -CH2-CH2-CH2-N(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-; either when R11-R41 is methyl or when R1/R2 and R3/R4 form (CH2)3 divalent radical respectively, then B1 is (CH2)2, (CH2)3, (CH2)4, (CH2)5, -(CH2)6 or -CH2-CH2-CH2-N(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-; either when R11-R41 is methyl or when R1/R2 and R3/R4 form CH=CH divalent radical, respectively, then B1 is (CH2)3, (CH2)4, (CH2)5, (CH2)6 or -CH2-CH2-CH2-N(CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2-; and when R11-R41 is methyl, then B is (CH2)4 or (CH2)5.
