Summary:The glass fibre or structure is coated with an electrically conducting composition containing the following substances (in percentage weight of solid materials): 6 - 50, and preferably 6 - 45 per cent of a film-forming agent; 5 - 40 per cent of a plasticizer, surfactant and/or dispersant; 20 - 75 per cent of electrically conducting particles; 0 to 10 per cent of a doping agent; 0 - 10 per cent of a thickening agent; and 0 - 15 per cent of additives. The film-forming agent is a polymer and preferably an elastomer, and the conducting compound is of carbon-based particles, especially of graphite or carbon black, with a particle size under 250 mcm, and preferably 100 mcm. Between 30 and 60 per cent of the particles have an aspect ratio of 5 - 20 : 1, and at least 15 per cent are in the shape of flakes or needles.
