Summary:Preparation of zirconium titanate (I) or lead zirconate titanate (II) comprises reacting lead and zirconium compounds with titanium dioxide particles having a BET-surface of more than 50 m 2>/g. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a preparation comprising titanium oxide hydrate particles with a BET-surface of more than 50 m 2>/g and a zirconium compound, where the molar ratio of titanium and zirconium is 0.75 and 0.90; (2) (I) and (II) prepared by the above method; (3) a microelectronic element comprising (II); and (4) a method for preparing a microelectronic element comprising grinding (II), pressing to a green body and sintering.
