The invention relates to a flux, a stock solution and a bituminous composition containing same, and to the preparation and applications of said products. The inventive flux is characterised in that it comprises: (a) at least one petroleum fraction having an aromatic compound concentration ACC (in percent by weight) such that ACC = 5 and having a distillation curve DC (in DEG C) such that 200 = DC = 400; and, optionally, (b) at least one light petroleum fraction essentially comprising aromatic compounds having a number of carbon atoms of less than or equal to 20. The invention also relates to products incorporating said novel flux as an ingredient, such as bituminous compositions in the form of anhydrous binders or an emulsions, which may or may not be modified with one or more polymers in the presence or absence of one or more crosslinking agents. The invention further relates to a concentrated stock solution which can be used in order to prepare such bituminous compositions. In addition, the invention relates to the methods of preparing the aforementioned products and to the applications of said bituminous compositions as construction materials, road surfaces (binders) or insulating, damping and/or sealing materials.
