Summary:In a sliding bearing of a large-sized engine, an aluminum-alloy having from 20 to 45 mass % of Sn is used. Its conformability, compatibility and seizure resistance is improved by forming an overlay, which consists of from 98 to 55 mass % MoS2, WS2, BN and/or graphite, and from 2 to 45 mass % of binder selected from polyimide resin, epoxy resin and phenol resin. The aluminum occasionally contains from 0.1 to 5 mass % of Cu, Mg, Cr, Si, Mn, Ni, V, Ti, Zn, Pb, In and/or Bi and is roll-bonded via an intermediate layer consisting of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy to a backing metal.
