Summary:Microcrystalline wax having a congealing point of between 85 and 120 °C and a PEN at 43 °C as determined by IP 376 of more than 0.8 mm. Process to prepare a microcrystalline wax by contacting under hydroisomerisation conditions a feed, comprising at least 80 wt% of normal-paraffins and having a congealing point of above 60 °C, with a catalyst comprising a noble metal and a porous silica-alumina carrier.
