Interference pigments with light absorbing layer
An interference pigment (P1) having a mass tone comprises a flake-form substrate with successive coatings of: (A) a colorless coating having a refractive index of greater than 1.8 in a layer thickness of 20-250 nm; (B) a colorless coating having a refractive index of = 1.8 in a layer thickness of 10...

Summary: | An interference pigment (P1) having a mass tone comprises a flake-form substrate with successive coatings of: (A) a colorless coating having a refractive index of greater than 1.8 in a layer thickness of 20-250 nm; (B) a colorless coating having a refractive index of = 1.8 in a layer thickness of 10-100 nm; (C) a colorless coating having a refractive index of greater than 1.8 in a layer thickness of 20-250 nm; (D) an absorbent layer having a layer thickness of 1-100 nm; and (E) optionally, an outer protective layer. Independent claims are included for the following (1) a process for producing the interference pigment involving coating the flake-form substrate by a wet-chemical method of hydrolytic decomposition of metal salts in aqueous medium or by a CVD or PVD process; (2) a pigment composition comprising at least one (P1), binders and optionally one additive. |
