Summary:As the housing body which constitutes a valve device for a musical instrument is made of resin, the size of a movable member can be large as required compared with the one where the housing body is made of a metal without increasing the weight of the valve device. This results in an enhancement of the arbitrariness of the shape of an acoustic passage formed in a movable member for communication between a pair of openings, so that an acoustic passage with a completely-circular cross section and a smooth inner wall can be formed in the movable member. This means little increase in the weight of a valve device for a musical instrument and a remarkable improvement in sound quality by an ideal acoustic passage.
