Summary: | The invention relates to an injector for injecting fuel into the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine. An injector body (20) is provided with a control chamber (4) which accommodates a spring element (45). An injector needle (6) is enclosed in a nozzle chamber (25) that is impinged upon by pressurized fuel via a high-pressure conduit (21). Control edges (28) are formed in the head zone (34, 38) of the injector needle (6), said control edges determining a leakage gap (33) when the injector needle (6) travels (29, 31) into the control chamber (4). |
