The carrier member supports a patient bed (19). The leveling device is preferably a leveling shoe, including a baseplate, a cover plate and an adjustable wedge between them. An Independent claim is included for a radiation therapy system. Eine Patientenlagerungsvorrichtung (11) für eine Strahlentherapieanlage (1) weist ein Tragelement (15) auf, das dazu hergerichtet ist, an einer ortsfesten Struktur um eine durch ein Behandlungs-Isozentrum (25) verlaufende, vertikale Iso-Achse (23) drehbar gelagert zu werden. Das Tragelement (15) mit einer daran angebrachten Patientenliege (19) ist mittels eines stufenlos einstellbaren Nivelliermittels (49, 51) nivellierbar. Das Nivelliermittel (49, 51) ist insbesondere als Nivellierschuh ausgebildet, der eine Grundplatte (61), eine Deckplatte (63) und einen dazwischen angeordneten verstellbaren Keil (65) umfasst.
