Summary:An Lpd reception program 63 of PC receives an image file scanned by a network scanner. Thereafter, a link application deciding section 72 of an external application startup program 65 searches an external application managing table 74 using an extension of image file as a key, and decides a link application (external application) associated with the extension. The link application deciding section 72 instructs a startup command output section 73 to start up the link application. This starts up the link application automatically so as to display image information on PC.
