Summary:The optical sensor (1) for a guided missile has an optical detector (2) with a gyrometer which measures an angle change in orientation in the detector. A central processor (8) uses the angle change to estimate the position of the object (C) in an actual image using the position in a preset image on a reference plane (OXY). The processor controls an image circuit which scans the optical image to detect the object to be found in a predetermined section of the image which is defined around the estimated position of the object. There can be two gyrometers to act in different directions.
