PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF 2-BROMO-6-METHOXYNAPHTHALENE

Process for the preparation of 6-bromo-2-methoxynaphthalene, which comprises the steps of: (a) brominating 2-naphthol to 1,6-dibromo-2-naphthol, (b) reducing 1,6-dibromo-2-naphthol to 6-bromo-2-naphthol, and (c) methylating 6-bromo-2-naphthol to 6-bromo-2-methoxynaphthalene.
