Summary:A panel (10) for advertising or announcing purposes comprises at least one plate (12) and comprises further a flexible lighting tube (16) mounted at least partially in front of the plate. The tube (16) follows the contours of letters, logos or other signs on the plate (12). The tube is mounted by mechanical means (18) to the plate, preferably by means of translucent toothed PVC belts (18, 28). Such a way of mounting increases the durability of the panel, increases the flexibility in designing a panel and limits the impact on the aesthetic effects of the panel. In order to hide parts of the tube at the back side of the plate (12), the plate (12) is not translucent.
