Summary:An electrically heatable device, preferably a heating pad, an electric blanket or a resistance mat, comprises a heat conductor which can be connected to an alternating current source. Said heat conductor is surrounded on all sides by a conductive layer isolating it from the heat conductor and which can be connected to ground. Said layer is in turn surrounded by an external covering, for example, a fabric cover. In order to avoid health-damaging electrical fields, the conductive layer consists of a covering of non-conductive woven cloth, knitted fabric, nonwoven fabric and/or felt to which graphite is added afterwards.
