Summary:Standard blocks of rectangular cross-section, principally of two heights (2/3,4) but of the same length and width, are glued together so that recesses are formed. The recesses face the cold side of the furnace and are filled with special insulating blocks (14,15,16,18). In addition fiber mats (17), together with plates (18,19) are placed over the gaps between the blocks to prevent convection and, in the case of mat (17) to act as a differential thermal expansion compensator. Hangers (5) are built in for roof cladding which can then be suspended by hooks (7) from a crossbeam (12).
