Summary:The portable tool (1) has a spindle (7) driven by an engine (3) with gearbox (5), also handlebars (11, 13, 15). Parallel to and clear of the spindle is a supporting bar (21) sliding in the lengthwise direction in relation to it. The bar can have a pointed tip (25), and there can be a holder with a further such tip on the bar. A foot-stirrup can be provided on the bar, together with a plate (27) at its forward end. A safety device (23) or stop can be provided at the bar rear end to limit the amount of movement. The device or stop, and the bar, can be removable.
