Summary: | In a multi-layer sound-absorbing component, in which at least two adjacent layers of different materials are secured by their edges to a substrate (1) forming a hollow space, in order to simplify production and achieve good sound absorption in certain frequency ranges, the layer (2) facing the relatively inherently rigid substrate (1) is itself also relatively inherently rigid; with the essentially outwardly sealed gas volume in the hollow space (3), it forms a mass-spring system which can oscillate at relatively low frequencies. The layer facing towards the sound source and away from the substrate (1), on the other hand, is a layer (4) absorbing sound a higher frequencies. |
