Summary: | An apparatus for measuring the thickness of a liner for a pipe (2) includes a chassis (1) and an ultrasonic probe (5). The chassis (1) is adapted to be moved through the pipe. The ultrasonic probe (5) is mounted on the chassis. A biasing spring (11) is provided for urging the ultrasonic probe against the internal surface of the liner (4). A controller, such as a computer (17), controls the transmission of pulses of ultrasonic energy from the ultrasonic probe (5) towards the liner (4) the reception of echoes therefrom. A processor, such as a computer (17), processes the echoes so as to determine the thickness of the liner (4). |
