Summary:A process for coating the surface of extruded thermoplastic plate involves scattering spherical granules of thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) onto the still hot plate immediately after leaving the slit die (1). The granules are then partially melted and embedded in the plastic plate (2) surface either by the effect of their own weight and/or by applying pressure between two smoothing calender rolls (4).
