Summary: | An epoxy resin which is a reaction product of a polyepoxy and a polyol which contains both epoxy groups and terminal phenolic hydroxyl groups of at least 0.2 weight percent having added thereto an epoxy novolac having an epoxy functionality greater than two. The epoxy resin is suitable for use as a powder coating exhibiting lower melt viscosity than prior art resins of similar composition. The epoxy resin exhibits higher Tg/softening point than prior art resins of similar viscosity. A powder coating prepared from the resin may be used on temperature sensitive substrates. |
