Summary:The method uses a projector (1) with a diaphragm which constitutes a light source 92) that illuminates a windscreen (3) to be tested. The screen is placed at a considerable distance, e.g. four meters, from the source and at an angle relative to the light beam direction. A CCD camera (6) monitors the shadow cast by the windscreen. The image generated is then stored in the camera memory and used to generate a reference image. The recorded image is compared with its reference image so that a defect map is produced.
