Summary: | A fan casing 1 for arrangement in a passage opening 5 is proposed, which, as well as a space-saving design, not only has a construction which is easy to maintain and assemble, but, in the case of the installation of motor-driven fans, also enables high efficiency of the forced air conveyance. It is equipped with an outer covering hood 10 made of moulded, preferably thermoformed plastic sheet material, which is provided on at least three sides with a bearing or supporting flange 11 parallel to the installation plane, but along the fourth side, for bounding an air passage 14, has a boundary edge 34 spaced from the installation plane, the covering hood 10 being connected in each case via the supporting flange 11 to a wall, a roof, a ceiling, a board, a panel or the like. This fan casing 1 is characterised by an inner, frame-like lining part 3 which is provided with a hood-like shaped-out portion 6 arranged externally in front of the passage opening 5, wall, roof, ceiling, board, panel 2 or the like, and also in that the boundary walls of this hood-like shaped-out portion 6 assume and/or maintain, as a whole, a minimum distance from the inner face of the outer covering hood 10, and in that the opening edge 15 of the hood-like shaped-out portion 6 of the inner lining part 3 is situated at a distance from the boundary edge of the air passage 14 of the covering hood 10. |
