Summary:A novel macrolide compound represented by general formula (I), a process for the production thereof and a microorganism belonging to the genus Kibdelosporangium which produces said macrolide compound. In formula (I), R represents isovaleryloxy or hydroxy; R represents methyl or hydroxymethyl; and R represents methyl or hydrogen. This compound is obtained from the medium for culturing the microorganism, and is useful as medicine, especially an antibacterial agent. Nouveau composé de macrolide représenté par la formule générale (I), son procédé de production, et microorganisme appartenant au genre Kibdelosporangium produisant ledit composé de macrolide. Dans ladite formule R1 représente isovaleryloxy ou hydroxy; R2 représente méthyle ou hydroxyméthyle; et R3 représente méthyle ou hydrogène. Ce composé est obtenu à partir du milieu de culture d'un microorganisme, et il est utile comme médicament, notamment comme agent antibactérien.
