Summary: | A network type document management system is configured to have an optical file (30), terminals located at a plurality of places for user, and a host computer (10) intermediate between said optical file and terminals (50, 90). The host computer has a CPU (11) for executing the processing and control, and data storage unit (13). The CPU of the host computer is so programed that upon receiving the image request from the terminal the host computer outputs a command for requesting images corresponding to n pages of the requested material to the optical file and stores these data for n pages in the storage unit and sends the image data of the head page to the terminal. After that, each time the command for requesting an image from the terminal, the CPU of the host computer reads the image data for the next page stored in the data storage unit and sequentially sends them to the terminal. |
