Summary: | Detector unit (E), which serves to control a vehicle-occupant protection system in the event of an accident and has a fracture-prone or deformation-prone sensor arrangement (M) which can detect accelerations and/or decelerations by means of a seismic mass, and has a holder (H/T) which attaches the detector unit (E) to an object (G/B). Its surface is touched by a soft flexible damping element (D1/D2). In the event of a jolt which is hard in comparison with the jolt which acts directly on the detector unit (E) in the event of an accident, the damping element (D1/D2) damps the mechanical vibrations of the detector unit (E) which occur, namely for example in the event of an impact after the circuitry housing (G/B/S) which contains the sensor unit (E) is accidentally dropped. |
