Summary:Bioadhesive ophthalmic insert intended more particularly for the prolonged and controlled release of a medicinal substance. The insert consists of a matrix of composite polymeric material into which the medicinal substance is incorporated. The matrix of composite polymeric material comprises a water-soluble biocompatible polymer and a bioadhesive biocompatible polymer and, if appropriate, a water-insoluble biocompatible polymer. On décrit un insert ophtalmique bioadhésif, plus particulièrement destiné à la libération prolongée et contrôlée d'une substance médicamenteuse. L'insert consiste en une matrice en matériau polymère composite dans laquelle est incorporée la substance médicamenteuse. La matrice en matériau polymère composite comprend un polymère biocompatible hydrosoluble ainsi qu'un polymère biocompatible bioadhésif et, le cas échéant, un polymère biocompatible non hydrosoluble.
